About Me
I live in Greenock with my husband of 26 years and my teenage sons, Campbell and Drew. I was a German and French teacher for 28 years but decided to become a Celebrant and help others to mark important occasions in their lives. I just love meeting people and hearing all about them and their loved ones. People tell me I am easy to talk to, and I am a very good listener.
When I have time to myself, I love getting stuck into a good book or series on TV. I also love watching a film with my husband, although our tastes are VERY different. I am learning to ballroom dance, and I LOVE my weekly class.
In the summer, I really enjoy spending time in our beautiful garden with family and friends. You just can’t beat a good catch-up, a stunning view and a roaring fire! That’s when I’m at my happiest. We still enjoy family holidays together and we love exploring Holland and Italy, in particular.
As a linguist, I love the challenge of learning new languages, and I always try to learn a few new words when I’m abroad - just to get by. Even one or two words can really make people warm to you instantly.
Having lost both my parents by the time I was 40, I have a very “do what makes you happy” attitude towards life. Everything I do is in memory of my parents, who would want me to live life to its fullest. I really believe that I have become more determined, better organised and stronger than I ever thought possible, since they passed away. You can’t change what has happened, but you can change what happens next.
